HourCar Charging Stations

The Neighborhood Energy Connection (NEC) wanted a pair of systems to provide clean solar power to their HourCar plug-in hybrid neighborhood cars.

Westwood Renewables designed and installed a row of ten photovoltaic (PV) modules on the roof of the Mississippi Market Co-op building in St. Paul, MN, which also houses the NEC’s offices. Each module is rated at 216 watts, for a combined 2.16 kilowatts of power to the HourCar.

Westwood Renewables also designed and installed a ten-module array at the 46th Street Light Rail Station in Minneapolis, MN, for HourCar’s plug-in station at that site. Each module is rated at 195 watts, for a combined 1.95 kW of power.

The utility interconnection and state rebate processes for both projects were also managed by Westwood Renewables.
